When Your Path Gets Rocky, Remember Your WHY

First things first- I am over the moon about my cover and so excited to share it with you before I share anywhere else!  So feast your eyes on Better Than Gelato. I love it so much I want to turn it into wallpaper and wallpaper my whole bedroom.

Now, back to helping you get your dream cover, or restaurant or Backstreet Boys tribute band (no judgement here).

Have you seen that movie about the woman who has to do this huge thing and accomplishes it without obstacles or opposition? Me neither. Movies like that would be boring to watch and the audience would throw popcorn at the screen and yell “That’s not how life works!”

While I truly believe working hard for your dream makes achieving it sweeter and provides personal growth, if I had a magic wand to make everyone’s dreams come true effortlessly, you better believe I’d use that sucker.

The truth is there’s no easy way to do this thing. Dream chasing is a gritty, thankless pursuit that requires more than you expected. Remembering your WHY helps you continue on your journey. If the path toward your goal is filled with boulders, scramble to the top of one and look around. See how far you’ve come. Feast your eyes on your sparkling goal up ahead. And take a breather to remember why you started this journey in the first place.

For me, writing is a form of self care that keeps me from going crazy and brings joy to my life (you would not believe the amount of giggling I do while I write). It has the added bonus of impressing my children, who are huge readers and think a published author is every bit as cool as Taylor Swift.

When you’ve got your WHY clear in your brain, and some good oxygen in your lungs, climb down from that boulder and head to the next one.

Keep turning pages,
