Better Than Gelato
Goodbye mind-numbing business classes, hello hunky Italian men…
When Juliet Evans scores a job as a nanny in Italy, she’s ready for a year of excitement and glamour. She is not ready for a diabolical six-year-old who swears like a pirate and hurls silverware with terrifying accuracy.
Still, it’s a small price to pay to explore Milan, take a million photos, and fantasize about becoming a professional photographer. And yes, she knows she has to take over the family business when she returns home, but a little denial never hurt anyone.
And speaking of denial, she is definitely not attracted to research intern, Jake Fields. She barely even notices his adorable dimples and quiet charm. Besides, dating an American in Italy is like eating at McDonald’s in Rome—ridiculous! Yet, despite her best efforts, Juliet finds herself in the bewildering and euphoric grip of first love.
It’s exhilarating! Intoxicating! Even better than gelato! Until it’s the one thing standing in the way of her dreams.
The future she’s always wanted is so close. Now what is she willing to give up to get it?
Based on a true story
After Libby’s freshman year of college, she landed a job as a nanny in Milan. She spent the year nannying, hanging with the greatest group of friends a girl could ever want, and falling in love. Decades later, after letting those experiences simmer in the back of her brain, Libby decided to put it into a novel. Names have been changed, events have been fictionalized, and many things have been omitted to save the author the embarrassment of owning up to the stupid things she did when she was twenty.
Libby in Milan at age 20. Probably about to do something stupid.

The Last Con
James Theodore Stevens is on the brink of a huge payday. Three months after moving to town, the residents of Providence, Tennessee are eating out of his hand. In their defense, James is extremely good at what he does- listening intently, finding the perfect marks, and then whispering a tragic tale that opens hearts and wallets.
The sum he’s collected from the kind people of Providence is almost enough to fund his vengeful dream. If everything goes according to plan, Providence will be the last con he ever pulls.
But things do not go according to plan. While clearing branches off an old woman’s roof, James falls and wakes up with no recollection of the last five years.
Now James must rely on stories from strangers to fit together the scattered pieces of his life, unaware that everything he’s told them is a lie. Can he figure out who he is, and why he came to Providence? And as unsettling information begins to surface, does he even want to?
Work in Progress
Bigger Than Versace
It has been so much fun to go back to Milan and hang out with all my friends from Better Than Gelato. The sequel features a new nanny, Lydia St. Clair, who is very different from our sweet Juliet. Lydia is not overjoyed to be in Milan, but spending a year abroad sounds a lot better than the truth: kicked out of her second university in two years. As I write I’m still getting to know Lydia, but I have a feeling it’s going to be an interesting year!
